Our Aims

At Bradpole Preschool, we believe that every child deserves the very best start in life, supported in a way that enables them to reach their full potential.

Recognising that each child is unique, we provide individualised learning and care so that every child can progress at their own pace. Our environment is safe, stimulating, and nurturing, allowing children to flourish and thrive.

Our child-centred philosophy focuses on developing the whole child. Guided by the principles of multiple intelligences, we value and celebrate the fact that every child is intelligent in their own way. The Early Years Foundation Stage framework underpins our planned curriculum, which is tailored to each child’s interests and needs. This ensures all children build a broad range of knowledge and skills, laying strong foundations for future learning and life.

Our outdoor provision gives children rich opportunities to explore the natural world, take managed risks, and grow in resilience and self-belief. We embrace the Forest School ethos, recognising the importance of outdoor learning and the positive impact it has on children’s development.

We do this by providing:

• A thoughtfully organised indoor environment with clearly defined workshop areas and free-flow play, alongside a stimulating outdoor space that is enclosed, safe, and secure.
• A continuous cycle of assessment, observation, planning, and reflection to guide our practice. We follow the child’s interests in the moment, responding and interacting to support their development.
• A team of dedicated, highly qualified practitioners who meet every child’s individual needs through a carefully planned curriculum based on their interests and stage of development.
• Engaging and stimulating activities inspired by each child’s own interests to promote their learning and development.
• Opportunities for children to build friendships and develop social skills with their peers.
• Strong working partnerships between staff, parents, carers, and outside agencies.
• Excellent links with local schools to support smooth transitions from preschool to reception.
• High staff-to-child ratios and a supportive Key Person system, ensuring each child has a consistent adult to guide them during every session.
• Small-group activities that nurture children’s confidence, language development, vocabulary, and attention and listening skills.
• Daily small-group story time and music sessions, tailored to children’s ages and developmental stages.
